Our vision is to provide local, fast and affordable food, first to our community, then to as many surrounding communities that we can, without losing our core values or quality that make us a leader in the food movement. We believe that people want better options, but cost and speed are very real factors in our society. By offering seasonal, organic plant based meals at fast food speed and price, we can begin to help reconnect people with food that serves them and our planet well today, and for generations to come. We intend to be part of the solution to bringing seasonal food back to our plates, to encourage people to eat well every meal, every day. Through this, we can enable communities to support each other more, standing stronger together, and voting everyday for what we believe in. To us, this means sourcing our food locally all four seasons of the year and sourcing from other local business sourcing locally. It means using produce that is grown sustainably, without the use of chemicals or pesticides, and hopefully one day without tilling the soil. It also means letting plants be a larger portion of our diets.
The Hearty Eats Farm
Being so lucky to live in an area rich with local, organic farms, it would be a wonder to many why a restaurant would aspire to also take on a goal of growing food as well. The short answer to this is that we believe that cooking starts in the garden. To be connected with how the plants grow, is to draw understanding, love and inspiration. We are a no till farm and our focus is to grow as nutrient rich food as possible, because we understand that nutrients are flavor, and to make good food, you need to grow good vegetables. Our farm aspires to push our own personal understanding, to learn and to grow, and to share this experience with our employees. We see the garden as a tool to help develop and attract well-rounded staff who have a passion for food, the role it plays in our society and an interest in food sustainability and sovereignty.
Our Local Farms + Businesses
When we buy from our local, organic farmers, we are voting for the systems we believe in, we are supporting our local economy, we are reducing our carbon footprint on the planet, we are eating what's in season and by eating what's in season we are nourishing ourselves and our community by getting what we need from the vegetables that grow in that season. We think it's an all around win, and a challenge worth taking on.
When you eat at Hearty Eats these are the farms and businesses you support!
